A Garmin GPS for My Brother

http://www.laptopcomputersandgarmingps.com/2010/November/A-Garmin-GPS-for-My-Brother.htm

This morning as I was having my coffee my Mom called all upset and told me my baby brother had gotten a promotion at his new job. I told her I thought it was wonderful news and couldn't understand why she would be upset. She went on to say that even though she was very proud of him the promotion would mean he had to move out of state starting this January. That made more sense to me as he was the baby of the family and I could understand why she would be upset. I tried to calm her down and explain that it was time for him to move on with his life and we should try and be happy for him. After I hung up and started thinking about it I knew that one of her concerns was his safety as he would be doing a lot of driving. I had recently been given a new Garmin GPS by my husband and not only did I love my new gadget but felt safer on the road not having to worry about seeing the street signs and taking the wrong turn. My thought was that I would pick up a Garmin GPS and give it to my brother as a Christmas gift. I called Mom right away to tell her about the Garmin GPS and I was right. One of her concerns was now put to rest and she started feeling better. Everyone should have a Garmin GPS these days.

HD Camcorder Recorded Wet Burnout

http://www.laptopcomputersandgarmingps.com/2010/October/HD-Camcorder-Recorded-Wet-Burnout.htm

When it rains outside something comes over me to cut work short and go enjoy the day. This might be the opposite for people in wetter parts of the country but in Los Angeles dreary days are in the minority. When it rains the streets get very slick as the oil from all the cars starts surfacing. It is perfect for burnouts without ruining the tires. I had my roommate grab his HD camcorder yesterday and come out to a nearby parking lot across from our apartment complex. The rain water glistened off the open concrete. I wanted to get a quick clip of my motorcycle burning out. Might seem lame but I get a kick out of it. Motorcycle tires are expensive but when it rains not much tread comes off during a burnout.

I was surprised by how easy it was to get the rear tire spinning. My roommate moved around me with the HD camcorder as I tried kicking the tail out. It was really loud so the HD camcorder clip is only like 15 seconds long. After that we got out of there so none of the neighbors would complain.

I really had just been using the laptop computer for my business needs, which are very demanding these days. So I did not really have much time at all to install some of my favorite PC games on it and really dig in and see what was under the hood on that new laptop computer of mine. But let me tell you, it can truly handle some of the finest PC games and with ease. In fact, it’s so burning fast that it easily creams the clock speed of the older desktop that I have in my home office. This places my new laptop computer at the top of the list of machines I want to use for all future PC gaming adventures. I was looking up its specs, and boy were they impressive. The graphics card is nearly triple the speed of the one in my desktop, and the CPU is four times faster. No wonder my laptop computer is a speed demon!

This is because that fabulous Garmin GPS navigation system has never let me down, ever since I first installed it and started using it about a year ago. No matter where I am planning on going, my Garmin GPS navigation system always gets me there in the fastest and most efficient way possible. My Garmin GPS navigation system is very intuitive as well—it hooks up to this cool online feature that feeds it live traffic reports and allows me to know what routes to take to avoid traffic jams and freeway rush hour clutter, or road closures due to accidents. On a final note here, my Garmin GPS navigation system does not just save me time, it also saves me money by allowing me to make the best out of my gas mileage when traveling to and from any destination! If you ask me, I would never want to be behind the wheel without my trusty Garmin GPS navigation system!

The most recent time that I have really used my HD camcorder for hours upon end, since I got that beauty a few months back, was at my brother’s wedding – which was in May in this year. The HD camcorder was all charged up and ready for picture taking, and my wife and I were dressed to impress. There we were, meandering all over the place at his wonderful and relaxed outdoor wedding. My HD camcorder also doubles as an SLR digital camera, because it has a built in still frame shot feature on it that allows you to take normal pictures in addition to shooting video footage with it. That is a sweet feature to have on any HD camcorder if you ask me. I have tons of great wedding memories preserved thanks to this awesome and uncanny device that just rocks and rolls, if you ask me!

Bringing the Race Home with a HD Camcorder

Over the weekend, my friend drove out to a local racetrack for a day of practice on his motorcycle. I had all intentions of going but then work came up and I had to drop out. This was obviously disappointing but another friend went and brought a HD camcorder he had bought online. From various turns of the desert track, he recorded the action focusing on our friend. Practice makes perfect and over the past couple of months, our buddy has been practicing at race tracks around the area every other week. He is getting fast. I know this because I watched the HD camcorder recordings from this weekend.

Track days are about beating your own time. It isn’t a race although you can see how fast everyone else is completing laps. Our friend was right up there with the top 5 fastest people. Some of those people were on 1000cc bikes too. He uses a 600cc motorcycle. The clarity of HD camcorders sold online is hard to believe. It looks near film quality. With the right lens, tripod and camera mounts, it would not be difficult to record TV worthy footage on a consumer HD camcorder.

Saving Checks With My Laptop Notebook

http://www.laptopcomputersandgarmingps.com/2010/April/Saving-Checks-With-My-Laptop-Notebook.htm

Last weekend I was looking through my storage and found a box of checks I had ordered last year and thanks to my laptop notebook they were still intact like the first day I got them in the mail. Until I laid eyes on that check package I didn’t realize how much my laptop notebook has helped me in keeping my finances in order. It has been a very long time since I’ve written a paper check to anyone since I can pay everything with the simple click of one of my laptop notebook buttons. Let’s see, I pay all my bills online and even if I owe someone money I just use one of those online money transfer services, I pay my taxes online, and even check my banking information online. Come to think of it, my laptop notebook has allowed my finances to go as green as green can be. I mean, I’ve even stopped all paper billing and I’ve been getting all my bills in my email inbox. Until that day I cleaned the storage I had no idea that, besides being my entertainment center, game console and music player, my laptop notebook had also become my best secretary.

Laptop Computers Were Made For Travel

When I got to the airport this past weekend my MP3 player headphones were working as they should have been. The battery was fully charged, I had a few new albums to jam to before filing into the plane and the excitement of seeing family pulsated through my veins. Then out of nowhere, the left headphone speaker stopped working. This totally offset the mood of the moment. It wasn’t long before I was so frustrated from trying to figure out why this had happened that I’d turned off the MP3 player completely. My next move came after taking the laptop computer out of my travel bag.

Yea, it was tough to have no music but it was just as well because the airport had free wireless, which let me get a little bit of work done in front of the gate. Notebook computers were made for travel. After buying mine online, I have found out just how useful they are for getting stuff done on the road. This is a country built on staying connected and my laptop computer has made that possible even when at the airport. I couldn’t be happier.

A wedding and my Garmin GPS

My friend was telling me that they are going to a wedding up north this coming Saturday. It will be a two to two and half hour drive and even though they know the major area well, the wedding will be held on the outskirts of town. They plan to spend the night up there and make it a week-end getaway of sorts too. They asked if they could borrow my Garmin GPS just for assurance on finding the wedding site without any problems. I didn’t have a problem with that. My Garmin GPS has come to my rescue and the rescue of my friends on so many occasions. Before my Garmin GPS, I was going around in circles, lost and confused. Now, I no longer have that fear of being late to a new destination or wasting precious fuel. My friends were so grateful that they will have confidence on the road when they leave this Saturday. They assured me that once they get back, it is time for them to go online to purchase their own Garmin GPS.

I Don’t Take Road Trips without my Garmin GPS

http://www.laptopcomputersandgarmingps.com/2010/April/I-Dont-Take-Road-Trips-without-my-Garmin-GPS-.htm

So let us get in the car and go somewhere really cool, like Sedona – which is this awesome little town up in Northern Arizona! But wait, allow me to quickly turn on my Garmin GPS and plug in where we are going so it can work its magic and navigate the fastest and safest, most fuel-efficient route there. I am spontaneous for sure – being in the sense that there are many weekends where my wife and I have just said what the hey and went for it. But you won’t ever see me get in my car and embark upon that fond road trip without my Garmin GPS handy! I just don’t like driving around without my Garmin GPS anymore, ever since I got hooked on the many awesome and amazing features that it has to offer. Lately, I even got to use my Garmin GPS for finding a camping site, and plan on also using it this coming weekend—when I am taking another road trip out to Las Vegas to celebrate my brother’s bachelor party before he is to be wed in two weeks.
