With my son going on his first ever camping trip this coming week for spring break, I decided that a portable Garmin GPS would be the perfect thing to keep him company in case he gets lost. When I suggested to him that he carry a portable Garmin GPS, you should have seen how quickly he rolled his eyes and talked bout how he didn’t need anything like that because there would be people with them who knew their way around the camping area. I asked him what he would do if something happened to one of the guides or if he got somehow separated from the group, if he would be able to find his way out of the forest without a portable Garmin GPS to lead the way.
I think once I put it to him like that, he realized that it wouldn’t hurt to have one, so he gave me the go ahead to order the portable Garmin GPS online. What he didn’t realize is that I’d already done it, several days before, to ensure that he had it in time for his camping trip next week. It should arrive any day now.
