hd camcorderWhen my buddy sent me a web link to a video he had just posted of a few laps he’d taken during a local track day the first question I had was how he mounted the HD camcorder. The resolution of his camera caught nearly every detail of the track from behind his windscreen. I would think a HD camcorder of that quality would be a bulky addition to the bike instrument cluster. He then sent me a link of the HD camcorder he’d bought online. It literally was small enough to fit in my jean pocket. No larger then three boxes of Tic-Tacs stacked on top of each other this specific cam didn’t have any extra features to mess around with. A simple record, stop and menu button dotted the small top.

He had bought a motorcycle mount specifically designed for this sort of thing secured underneath the gas tank bolts. Since I don’t have  an HD computer monitor I didn’t see it at 1080p resolution but even when standard the footage looked like something you’d see from an onboard pro race cam except my buddy wasn’t quite as fast.
