hd camcorder

My brother and his wife went to Hawaii earlier this year and they took their HD camcorder with them.  I must admit, I'm happy with a regular camcorder myself, but there are times, when it pays to have high definition.  I've never been to Hawaii, but watching their video, all the flowers, trees...  everything really, seeing it in high def, on their big high def tv was so much better than watching a regular video.  The quality was so incredible, it was as if you were standing there, looking at all that yourself.  

I was playing with the idea of buying a flip micro in HD just because it was reasonably priced and a good sized unit for me.  Regardless of wither it's an HD camcorder or not, I would rarely use it, so at this point in time, the micro would be a fun little toy to have.  Of course, I'm a visual person, and some what of an A/V geek, so I would need to see that HD camcorder in action before I make any final decisions about purchasing it.  From what I've seen of screen caps of it, it looks like it would be a good starter HD camcorder for someone that wouldn't be doing any major video work with it.
