A while back I went online looking for a new Garmin GPS system and man was I surprised. Is it me or have those Garmin GPS systems gotten a lot better? One of the coolest things I saw in one of the online electronics stores was a Garmin GPS system that offered spoken directions and where people could choose the type of voice that would come out of the unit—too cool. Then I saw another Garmin GPS system that would allow you to choose your own travel icon. The travel icon is the image or caricature that’s supposed to represent you on the Garmin GPS screen. Most of the time this is an arrow or a car, but in one of the Garmin GPS systems, you could pick to be a kid or even an eagle. Personally I think the eagle Icon was really cool. Also a lot of the newer Garmin GPS systems I saw where removable. This means that people not only have the pleasure of getting all the excellent Garmin GPS features inside their car, but they can also take it hiking, walking or even bicycling. I have to say that along with my laptop notebook, the newer Garmin GPS systems are a godsend and something that has revolutionized the way we live completely--we reallu have the world at our fingertips.
